Sarasota Art Museum Teen Arts Council (SAM TAC)
Sarasota Art Museum’s Teen Arts Council – SAM TAC is a group of fifteen creative high school students who share a common interest in art and community engagement. The Teen Arts Council offers participants the opportunity to engage with art, culture, and history; develop workplace and team-building skills; and learn about a range of professional options and career paths. The Teen Arts Council gets behind-the-scenes access to the Museum; assists in planning Teen Nights, events, and other public programming; and learns about the Museum’s exhibitions and contemporary art.
During the summer intensive, Teen Arts Council members will work on a summer project while learning about the Museum field, careers, and programs. Throughout the school year, Teen Arts Council members will continue to assist in developing and implementing programming for teens, youths, and families. While part of the Teen Arts Council program, members meet with Sarasota Art Museum staff, arts professionals, and other teens.
Teen Arts Council is a year-round commitment and a paid position.
