Become a Museum Guide!
Looking for a way to involve yourself in the arts? We are looking for you!
Are you:
Enthusiastic?
Passionate about Education?
Love Contemporary Art?
Willing to learn?
Are you interested in:
Working with the public?
Working with students?
As a Museum dedicated to Contemporary Art, we look for those who love art (and learning!) as much as we do.
SAM’s Museum Guides, as the knowledgeable representatives of the Museum, share stories, facts, and our community-based approach to contemporary art. Museum guides reflect flexibility, responsibility, and respect regarding Museum patrons, staff, and other volunteers.
Being a Museum guide includes training, scheduling, and newsletters, along with communication, partnering with our Public Programming Coordinator and Community Catalyst in engaging the public.
We are committed to ensuring our museum guides feel appreciated and prepared with the best knowledge about contemporary and current exhibitions.
A previous docent or museum guide experience, history in arts, or arts education can be helpful, although not required.
