Join us each Wednesday afternoon starting at 2:30 pm – April 19, April 26, and May 3 – to view and discuss three classic films from the US and France.

Enjoy the zany laughter from Danny Kaye in ‘The Secret Life of Walter Mitty’, the visual comedy of the French writer/director, Jacques Tati in ‘Mon Oncle’ and the romantic dancing of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers in ‘Top Hat’.

The series will be hosted by Jeff Ryder, Emmy Award winning instructor at Ringling College Osher Lifelong Learning Institute on the Sarasota Art Museum Campus.

ABOUT MON ONCLE

‘Mon Uncle’ – The French comedy centers on the socially awkward yet lovable character of Monsieur Hulot and his quixotic struggle with postwar France’s infatuation with modern architecture, mechanical efficiency and consumerism. The film won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film in 1958.
