Darcie Allen and the Five Points Quintet

ABOUT DARCIE ALLEN

Darcie Allen is the lead singer of both The Darcie Allen Trio and Five Points Quintet, has had a love for music from her earliest memories of playing the piano at the tender age of four and started writing songs as a teenager. She played the role of Maria in The Sound of Music, directed music in her church, and sang in ensembles in college. However, signing has still always been her favorite expression of music.

Darcie’s debut album in 2004 was “Summers of Life,” which can be found on iTunes, Spotify, and Amazon. Her composition “Who Will Catch Me” won Song of the Year, VHF 2004 songwriting competition, under Adult Contemporary.

She is known for her storytelling through her vocals, whether singing a swing tune, ballad, jazz standard, bossa nova, gospel tunes, and classical. Darcie has garnered a following, while many fans now know her as Jazz Girl SRQ. You can find her and her bands playing around town at, Café in the Park, Sarasota Art Museum, Salute!, Burns Court Café, Giorgio’s, the Jazz Trolley, and private events hosted at The Founders Club, Longboat Key Club, The Concession Golf Club, and The Jewish Federation’s Annual Gala.
