Great Lawn
Embracing Our Differences and Sarasota Art Museum are thrilled to announce the return of Embracing Kindness, a collaborative exhibition now in its second year. Displayed on the Museum’s Great Lawn, this unique showcase features 14 billboard-sized images of original artworks spanning the last two decades.
Created by students from Booker High School’s Visual and Performing Arts program and NewGate School, under the guidance of Sarasota artist and educator Jeffery Cornwell, the selected pieces celebrate creativity, diversity, and the transformative power of kindness and respect. Cornwell’s deep ties to Ringling College of Art and Design, where he studied fine art and led Teen Studios for many years, highlight the collaborative nature of this exhibition.
This collection embodies the shared mission of Embracing Our Differences and Sarasota Art Museum to amplify diverse voices and experiences and cultivate an appreciation for art of our time. The exhibition is free to the public during Museum hours and accessible through the Museum’s lobby, which leads to the Great Lawn.
